Helping Our Youth of Today
Become The Leaders of Tomorrow
Madraigos Support Line
The Madraigos Support line is available 24 hours a day, 6 days a week for any matters of concern. A message is sent to the staff members on call who respond within 24 hours. Staff members are trained in a variety of issues. They assess and identify specific needs at that moment and they provide direction and support to access the appropriate resources.
Madraigos offers no-fee comprehensive assessments for individuals and families struggling with social/emotional and mental health issues. Appointments are arranged to fit your schedule, including evenings and weekends. Our clients walk away with clear resources and a concrete plan to address their needs.
Our team maintains ongoing contact and support with our clients and with the individuals and agencies to which our clients are referred. Madraigos is there with you every step of the way.
The Madraigos crisis team fields hundreds of phone calls from individuals and families in crisis, and works with many new families each year through our assessment, referral, and case management programs. Every family can expect caring and comprehensive support and guidance during their most difficult times.
Madraigos works with the community to assess its ever-changing needs. We have a wide range of support groups which target populations struggling with specific issues. Our groups are known to help clients form unique bonds with others, as well as find the support that so many of them seek. Every group is appropriately matched with a clinician who is highly experienced in the areas required.
Madraigos runs an ongoing parent support group for parents of adolescents. The groups are facilitated by trained professionals under the guidance of the Clinical Director at Madraigos. Each group runs for approximately 5-6 months before graduating. The graduated groups continue to meet once a month at a member’s home to provide ongoing support. Madraigos also offers community parenting events featuring world renowned experts who share their knowledge on many topics related to parenting, free of charge.
Madraigos conducts professional development programs for local Rabbonim, and school leaders focusing on emerging communal issues. These leaders who are on the frontlines come to Madraigos for guidance and advice on complex issues including substance abuse, self-destructive behavior, and abusive behavior directed at others. A major goal is to bring the community together and tackle the issues at hand in a unified manner for more effective services.
Job Placement Program
Madraigos connects eager community members who want to offer employment opportunities with the individual talents and interests of our young adult population. We have placed many young adults in rewarding employment positions that have helped them develop their individual skills, sense of responsibility and feelings of accomplishment.
School Based Services
Madraigos’ School Based Services Program provides student support and services to local Yeshivos and Day Schools. Our team of professionals and social work interns provide a myriad of programs which focus on issues facing today’s students. Both students and parents are given an overview of the risks and warning signs of various negative behaviors, and are coached on how to avoid falling into a pattern of self-destructive behavior.
Madraigos conducts programs and services over many of the Jewish holidays throughout the year. Our Rosh Hashana retreat takes disenfranchised youth out of their usual environment and provides a spiritually uplifting experience in a hotel/resort setting with amenities that extend well beyond the delicious food and beautiful accommodations. Our spectacular Rosh Hashana program is open to all, giving our young adults an opportunity to spend Yom Tov with caring families who strengthen the connection of our youth to the broader Jewish community. Classes, prayer services, support groups, and camaraderie make the Madraigos Rosh Hashana program a uniquely special experience.
On Yom Kippur, we host our programs in a private local home. Meaningful prayer services are held to accommodate the comfort level of all attendees. Madraigos encourages all participants to daven at their own pace and we offer many inspirational speakers who share their insights at various times throughout the day. Pre-fast and post-fast meals are shared by all in a close, family-like setting.
The Lounge provides teens with a safe and nurturing environment on weeknights throughout the year. Different nights are designated for boys and girls, and Lounge participants have a safe, supervised destination for fun with friends, social activities, and dinner, all under the watchful care and guidance of Madraigos professionals, social work interns, and staff. During the summer months, Madraigos conducts a Girls Night Out program for teenage girls, providing structured and productive summer evenings.
Year Round Events
Madraigos participants are treated to activities and events throughout the year, including a Super Bowl Party, trips and separate barbeques for boys and girls. These events, and many others, help foster positive self-esteem and social development. Madraigos hosts a Purim Seudah, Sukkos Party and a Chanukah Party so that all of our teens and young adults have a safe and fun place to be at a time when other negative venues beckon that could set back hard-fought personal growth. Our goal is to provide constant opportunities for our youth to grow so that step-by-step they become the leaders of tomorrow.
